We're raising funds to support 10 siblings with refugee status, who have recently been orphaned due to the sudden death of their mother.
On July 25th 2021, a mother of 10, died suddenly of a suspected heart attack. She was the matriarch of a loving blended family that our organisation was supporting with housing and societal issues, due to her refugee status.
This woman, who became our friend, had apparently fought anti-corruption in her home country, for which she was forced to flee due to death threats; threats which saw her husband killed. She fought hard to be reunited with her children, bringing them to the UK to be with her and tried to create a home out of the poor housing (1 x 2 bedroom 1st floor and 1 x 2 bedroom 3rd floor apartment), which had been provided by the State.
We believe the stress of her situation led to her untimely death, all of which was witnessed by her children. These 10 children, aged between 11 - 20 years and all talented musicians, are all alone in a foreign, hostile country and in need of love and support.
Please help us to wrap them in kindness and provide them with the support they currently need:
- a memorial for the kids to be able to say goodbye properly;
- a home with full-time maternal/paternal support;
- clothing/food/travel/activity costs and
- mental health provision.
We'll take care of the rest by supporting and guiding them in an holistic and nurturing manner, rooted in heritage and culture.
Thank you.
