New stretch target
If we were fortunate enough to raise over our target amount, the extra funds would be used to support and improve the club for all. As a not for profit organisation we put all funds back into the community through our facilities.
The existing flood lights at Wigton RUFC are terrible, we've secured most of the funds needed to replace them - now we need your help.

If we were fortunate enough to raise over our target amount, the extra funds would be used to support and improve the club for all. As a not for profit organisation we put all funds back into the community through our facilities.
The existing floodlights at Wigton RUFC are no longer fit for purpose, they are 40+ years old and even when they all work, they don't light the whole pitch.
We intend to install new floodlights to one of our training pitches to allow better training opportunities for all players at Wigton. This includes all ages grades for male and female players.
The total project cost is £85k! Which sounds a lot, but we have already raised £72,000 thanks to generous grant contributions from UKSPF, Sport England, CCL, Thomas Grahams and the Joyce Wilkinson Foundation.
With just £13k left to complete the project, were now calling upon our amazing community to 'shine a light on Wigton Rugby!'
We aim to install this new floodlights system this summer, ready for winter training when the days become shorter.
The total project cost figure includes the full installation and cabling the lights back to the power source at the club house.
Any additional funds we raise will be used to support and improve the club. This may be through facilities development, increasing the clubs electricity capacity and potentially generate its own energy to offset the increase in use.
This is about more than just a set of lights.
It's about giving a community of people the facilities they deserve to train when they want to train. It is about improving as individuals to become the best people and players we can be and as teams to prosper in our various leagues and competitions. It is about providing a choice to do something active, fulfilling and productive on a winters evening when darkness can get you down.
