Sherlock Holmes - Cast Recording

Help us record & release a cast album of original British musical Sherlock Holmes and The Poisonwood by Ben Glasstone & P Burton-Morgan.

We're raising money to record our next cast album, for SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE POISONWOOD, and this is your chance to be a part of the story, not to mention being the first to hear it!

SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE POISONWOOD is the third original British Musical from the award-winning P Burton-Morgan & Ben Glasstone (The Rhythmics & Cells) - a whip smart rock musical adaptation of Sherlock Holmes.

London, 2028. Part-time detective Sherlock Holmes is shredding away on his electric guitar when, his landlady, professional nutritionist and social media darling Dr Amanda Watson, interrupts him with a case - a poisoning at the infamous environmental protest camps in Oakenwood. The game is afoot and they must move fast to uncover the truth before the deepfakes and digital manipulations of their arch nemesis, tech billionaire and international potato magnate Jan Moriarty, get them cancelled permanently.

A fast paced, and funny eco interpretation of the Arthur Conan Doyle classic with a thrilling rock score from Ben (plus the heart-rending ballads and emotional punch everyone has come to expect from a show by the two of us.)

And while we're doing everything we can to bring the production to fully staged life in 2024, in the meantime we're going to record a studio album of the show, featuring West End performers including Olivier award-winning Arthur Darvill (Oklahoma, Dr Who) as Sherlock and Tori Allen-Martin (The Season, London Kills) as Watson.

So we need your help! This isn't a first for Metta (in fact we did our first cast recording in 2020 with Ben and P's first show THE RHYTHMICS - all thanks to a crowdfunding campaign), so as before we're aiming to raise  3000 because as we've come to learn, cast recordings get expensive pretty quick! As some of you will know that first cast recording led directly to a beautiful production of that lovely show which was tragically cancelled on the day of its rescheduled press night* (thanks a bunch, covid) and since then we have had to cancel no less than three UK tours of planned productions due to Arts Council funding rejections so it's been a pretty bleak 3 years. 

So if you can help support us and this exciting new project in these unpredictable and continually scary times then please do. Plus you get to hear an album of glorious and uplifting songs at the end of it, so really it's win win! 

We're aiming to record the album ASAP this spring/summer, and to share it with the world this autumn. And if we're able to raise a little bit more than our target then we'll be able to bring in a couple more musicians, and get an even better sound!
