Aim

Sir Robert de Jorz is a C14th Sheriff of Nottingham he lies in Burton Joyce church we want a proper plaque on a wood lectern 2 mark his tomb

1784707209_img_6307.jpegSir Robert de Jorz was an important knight of the Shire of Nottinghamshire. He served in Parliament and as a Verderer of Sherwood Forest. He was also a Sheriff of Nottingham. He has an impressive tomb in St Hilary’s church in Byron Joyce. His tomb is currently marked by a sign sign which is leaning up on the tomb. We want to create a good wooden free standing lectern with a fine new plaque which explains who he is and what he was. The tomb of Sir Robert is the one place where a visitor can gaze on the face of a real medieval Sheriff Of Nottingham.

We have reached the original target 🎯 for the de Jorz plaque and lectern  any extra money will be used to complete a similar project for Sir Simon de Headon another Sheriff of Nottingham
