We are raising money to enable us to purchase valuable kit to enable the club to expand, and offer football to more children
Sheffield Giants American Football Club currently offers American Football for ages from 7 years to adult, in both forms of the game, Kitted (Contact) and Flag (non-contact), but is the only organisation in Yorkshire that currently offers teams for all ages.
The sport of American Football is growing in popularity massively currently, in no small part due to the NFL playing regular season games in London each year.

The sport can sometimes not be the easiest to access at grass roots levels, due to the expensive equipment that is required to play, and the distance between clubs which often means that travel difficulties can occur, especially for teenagers who have no transport of their own.
We aim to close these gaps by providing kit and subsidised subs for those where cost is a barrier.
The sport of American Football in it's two forms can offer a space for all, regardless of size, age, gender, experience or ability.
Not only in playing the sport, but for those who wish to coach. Just by being involved in the sport participants will naturally become more active.

Whilst we do currently run teams, U11, U14, U17, Women's and Mixed Adult flag teams, as well as U16, U19 and Mixed Adult Kitted teams, we wish to initially train more coaches to enable more people to be involved.
By being able to support new members to all of the above teams, we feel that we can reach those people who may not normally get involved in sport. This would include female players from 7 years old through to adult, people who may think of themselves as being too large or too small for other sports, as well as people who feel that they don't fit into other sports due to their non-inclusive nature.

Sport England have agreed to match our fundraising, but this is dependent on us raising the first £3,610.00 ourselves
If we manage to raise the target amount, we intend to use this money twofold. Firstly to purchase additional flag and contact equipment which would enable us to provide access to the sport to more children. Secondly, to train and register more coaches, which again will mean that we will be able to offer more opportunities to more children
Currently participation in American Football can be limited by either costs, training space limitations, lack of equipment or insufficient coaches.
We want to minimise, or even eliminate, these barriers in order to get more people active and involved in the sport.

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
