Shaving heads for Doctors Without Borders

Aim

Jenna and I are shaving our heads to help raise money for Doctors Without Borders, any support for this cause will be warmly welcome!

My friend, Jenna and I are shaving our heads to raise money for Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières – MSF) and to support their vital humanitarian work in Gaza.

Seeing what is happening in Gaza can leave us feeling helpless and wondering what we can possibly do to help. We have a personal connection with the people of Gaza, having met a refugee from there, and this has made the ongoing suffering particularly personal to us. We wished to find a small way to show our support and contribute to those providing essential care on the ground.

So, we are giving up our hair! As we are based in Scotland, we have picked a particularly chilly time of year to do it, with winter just around the corner and we work on a farm at East Coast Organics. We are expecting to become very well acquainted with hats over the coming months, but hopefully a few cold heads will be a small price to pay for raising money and awareness for such an important cause.

We will be shaving our heads as part of this fundraising event and asking friends, family and anyone who would like to support us to make a donation to MSF.

MSF is an independent humanitarian medical organisation that provides medical care to people affected by conflict, disasters and other humanitarian crises. In Gaza, their teams have been providing emergency and trauma care, surgery, mental health support, maternal and paediatric care, as well as clean water and other essential assistance.

Any donation, no matter how big or small, would mean a great deal to us and will help support MSF’s humanitarian work. Thank you so much for your support!
