To launch Sharks Masters Swimming Club. A new, inclusive adult swimming community in South Wales that promotes fitness & friendship

Who are we?

We’re Sharks Masters Swimming Club, a newly formed adult masters swimming squad based in Rhondda Cynon Taf, South Wales. Founded in 2026, our mission is simple: to help adults of all ages and abilities rediscover their love of swimming, improve their health, and build lifelong friendships in and out of the pool.

Our club isn’t just about training — it’s about community. We want to create a welcoming, family‑friendly hub where swimmers can bring their loved ones to fun days, social events, and celebrations of progress. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or just starting your swimming journey, Sharks Masters offers a supportive environment where everyone belongs.

Our team includes passionate volunteers, qualified coaches, and advocates for accessibility and inclusion. Together, we’re building a club that reflects the best of Welsh community spirit — strong, friendly, and full of heart.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We’re crowdfunding to help launch Sharks Masters Swimming Club and make it sustainable from day one.

This project meets Sport Wales and Swim Wales community funding criteria by promoting physical activity, inclusion, and wellbeing for adults in South Wales.

• Encouraging volunteering and skill development through coaching, officiating, and club roles
• Supporting local partnerships with leisure centres, small businesses, and community organisations
• Inspiring more people to take up swimming and participate in masters competitions, helping to grow the wider Welsh swimming community and showcase the benefits of lifelong sport

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!

Funding method

Keep what you raise – this project will receive all pledges made by 4th July 2026 at 7:09pm
