I am raising funds to help with the editing, publication, promotion and advertising of my novel. Shadow in the Flame was the first novel length book I have written and although I have published another called 'Rain' through Amazon, due to work commitments and financial constraints I have not been able to promote or advertise the way I would have liked. Writing is always something I have enjoyed, creating new people and new worlds, letting imagination take us to places we can only dream of and dangers that hide in our nightmares. I have written for my friends and children for years, and was recently encouraged by a close friend to expand and showcase my story telling. Since then I have contributed with various short stories and full length novels on the Inkitt platform, which is an internet site designed for new, upcoming authors to share their work with the online community. Each one of my stories have been met with a degree of interest and have generated many readers to my work, with encouraging comments. The Shadow in the Flame is by far the most popular, with almost three thousand people having read the ghost story. The interest shown has led to other opportunities with an American company expressing a desire to showcase a story called 'The Doomstone' on the Wordisode web-site and two short stories and various articles in the Doctor Who fan based annual released later this year called the 'UNIT Fannual'. I have been in contact with a company in America who wishes to publish 'Shadow in the Flame', but the project will only be part funded and will need additional funding from myself. Any money raised will help with this publishing costs as well as cover design, ISBN registration, full editing and proof-reading services, digital conversion, promotion, advertising, promotional tour and full distribution to large book outlets. For me, the writing is only part of the story and the enjoyment I get from creating the world between the covers of a book is exciting, while the thought of what I might write will be joy to anyone who reads it is as great, if not more so. My dream and ambition is to see my novel spread across the country in bookshop after bookshop as the first of many novels...
