Please support Serious Injury Law Limited in our efforts to fundraise for Child Brain Injury Trust's campaign Every Child, Every Family
At Serious Injury Law Limited, we are delighted to support Child Brain Injury Trust (CBIT) in their latest campaign Every Child, Every Family, as they seek to raise £150,000 to provide more than 5000 hours of community support to children and their families affected by an acquired brain injury.
Key information
Over 40,000 children are affected by an acquired brain injury (ABI) each year, and this is the leading cause of disability in childhood. Children may sustain a brain injury as a result of road traffic collision, assaults and falls, whilst some will acquire a brain injury through illnesses such as strokes, brain tumours and infections like meningitis and encephalitis.
A brain injury is life changing for a child and their family and the long-term effects of such an injury are often invisible. A young person may experience difficulties with behaviour, social interactions, memory, concentration, sleep, chronic pain and fatigue, and impacts to their emotional and mental health and wellbeing.
CBIT and their dedicated ABI coordinators work tirelessly to provide invaluable support to young people and their families as they navigate the uncertainties that follow a brain injury.
Fundraising activities
As a firm, our colleagues will be organising and taking part in various activities in support of Every Child, Every Family.
A number of our colleagues are seizing the opportunity to enhance their fitness throughout the campaign with numerous pledges for cycling, running, rowing, skiing, and swimming. We will also be hosting team events across our offices.
Please support our colleagues as they take part in the following activities:
1. Tim Walters will walk, run, or cycle for a total of 500km by 4th February 2024. As he is limited by a heart condition, this will be quite a challenge for him.
2. Tim Walters has also committed to lose one stone in body weight by 4th February 2024. Should he fail, he will donate an equal amount to that pledged for this challenge, and double that amount if he is successful.
3. Frankie Tufaro will be rowing the distance of the channel (39km).
