We're still collecting donations
On the 18th January 2025 we'd raised £17,200 with 131 supporters in 43 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

Who are we?
More Than Words is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company that works with people of all ages and abilities. We use drama, music, dance, singing and creative activities to help people to develop their confidence, express themselves, be more independent and achieve their aspirations. Our specialism is working with people with a range of Learning Disabilities and Additional Needs.
We are a Social Care day provider and we support adults and young people to fulfil their aspirations and live their best lives. We use these creative and performance opportunities as a communication tool to provide a voice for everyone.
The opportunities that we provide our students help to promote independence, build confidence and foster positive social relationships.
We are currently moving into a new home for our Students and Staff and with this move comes many challenges in making our building fit for purpose and a fully accessible safe space for everyone to thrive.
Our students require the use of a sensory space to provide relaxation, mental stimulation, social Interaction as well as physiotherapy and the development of their cognitive functions and sensory skills.
What is our Vision?
It is our dream to have a new sensory space, to allow for all students and members of the local community to be able to access a room where they feel safe, and can set free their anxiety's, stress and sensory overloads.
With a new sensory room comes high costs. Equipment is bespoke and specialist. It needs to be accessible for all.
We require a new heated water bed, sensory lights, projector, digital sound equipment, weighted blankets, new bean bags, floor mats and window blinds. The donations will pay for all of these essential pieces of equipment.
We will be fundraising ourselves as an organisation and with our own families, by taking part in sponsored activities, raffles, and ticket sales from events.
