WHO AM I?
I have been dancing all my life and having completed my Dance Degree I went on to do a Teacher Training degree and during this I did a lot of work with Special Educational Needs (SEN) students. Following this I then started my own business and always had a big focus on inclusivity.
May 2019 I set up an SEN dance class in the Worcester area which was very popular. Due to covid-19 this class is no longer running and it got me thinking that there are probably more in the SEN community who have lost activities due to covid.
WHY?
Due to Covid, I have been unable to run my SEN classes and this got me thinking about what I could. I decided that I would create some dance videos but I didn't just want to film them from home!
Having spoke to quite a few people in the SEN community I found that they were finding the current situation a challenge so I knew that these were needed now more than and ever.
Their normal routine, which in some cases is really important, has been completely flipped on its head and with the constant changes in guidelines have felt really confused.
A lot of them have lost the activity that they enjoyed the most as it was their way of being able to express themselves in a world that doesn't make sense to them.
GOALS
My target for this project is £5K. This will pay for the film studio, videographer, editing and the marketing once they're complete. As a guide for you the costs of this are:
Venue - £500
Videographer - £800 - 2 videographer
Editing - £600
Travel to do this - £100
Total = £2000
Then add Marketing on top of that, roughly £200 makes it a minimum £2,200!
With your help I can create dance videos and get them to the SEN community for FREE and help them to still take part in what they love and communicate in their way!
If you can't back us with funds then please consider sharing this project.
