Help them get started
Your support makes a difference
Sending 24 young frisbee players from Yorkshire to the U17 &U20 European and World Championships this summer.
We are a group of young people and parents who are looking to support a group of elite athletes compete to represent Great Britain (and Yorkshire) in this year's European Youth Ultimate Championships in Vienna and the World Junior Ultimate Championships in Logroño.
Supporting the athletes through their training, buying kits, and paying for flights, accommodation, and medical costs is expensive. Our aim is to help those young people who need additional financial support. We hope also to have money left in the pot for young people who would otherwise be prevented from accessing this amazing opportunity.
All current U17s and U20s Ultimate Frisbee players who have been chosen to represent Great Britain will have access to the funds. Any remaining funds will be saved and used exclusively to support future Yorkshire Ultimate Frisbee players, as organised by the Open Team coach, Matthew Carson.
The impressive number of Yorkshire students selected to represent Great Britain highlights the growing strength of the Ultimate Frisbee scene across Yorkshire, with 19 coming from Fulford School and 5 additional students from the region also earning places on the national squads. Their selection is a testament to the hard work, determination and unmistakable Yorkshire grit for which the county is known.
Often referred to as “God’s Own Country,” Yorkshire has long been celebrated for its breathtaking landscapes, distinctive food and, of course, the perfect cup of tea. With so many talented young players now emerging from the region, Ultimate Frisbee may well be on its way to becoming Yorkshire’s next great icon.
