What would you do if every day was the same, but you keep changing. A short psychological thriller making you question everything.
An individual called 'Self' is struggling to come to terms with their multiple differing identities. This is made even harder by the fact that they are stuck in the same day, repeating again and again, everything forever staying the same except for them, quite literally. As they fight to escape this loop and find themselves, could the two be connected?
Main Themes: Gender identity, sexuality, coming of age, self love, self expression, journey of self discovery
Audience: 12 to 35 is the main target audience. However, we believe the relatability of the topic of self-discovery is one that will transcend multiple ages, background, sex, gender etc.
The teams goal with this film is to explore the very core of identity. Society is putting us into boxes at a very young age and social pressures assigned to those boxes put us all under immense pressure to conform. But sometimes those boxes are too restraining, no matter you gender, sexuality, race etc we are all under some form of pressure to fit a mould. With Self we want to make it clear that not being OK and not fully understanding who you are is completely normal. It is OK not to be OK! You may not have it all figured out. It may take time.
