Aim
To provide and support the community with on the water fitness, improved physical and mental wellbeing for all ages and promote active lives
Who are we?
Waterborn has been at the forefront of Paddleboarding since 2012 and is a cornerstone of water based activities within Kingsbridge. We teach safe, enjoyable fun sessions and also provide top quality equipment hire for those who want to explore at their own pace.
Why are we crowdfunding?
As you most likely know we have recently transitioned to a Community Interest Company and are applying for grants to run projects to support our beloved community. Many of these grants have long lead times or only allow for funds to be used for particular purchases. In order to get to that stage we require the communities help to keep the lights on and ensure we can be ready to support you in turn. We will be running projects that inspire personal improvement with Aqua Paddle (think 5km parkrun on the water), Paddle and Pick (environmental clean ups), Fit SUP In (Regular fitness sessions), Blue Sky (Mental health sessions), SUP Safe Community Project (Water Safety Sessions), Blue Horizon Paddle Project ( Water confidence/safety for juniors) any many more. We will support people aged 6 - 70+ but need a helping hand to get to that stage. Many grants also require matched funding so this will be an opportunity show that the community indeed wants to retain this vital part of Kingsbridge's activity lifeline

How we’ll spend the money raised
Where possible funds will be used to directly provide projects to be able to get more people on the water safely. However some of the funds will also need to go towards less fun things, like rent for the containers, ink for the printers, website hosting, new radios etc. As a non profit CIC rest assured we will use funds wisely to ensure the longevity of Waterborn in our community.
We want people to enjoy the estuary for many more years to come
Community impact
Creating a positive association with year round sport, to combat seasonal associated drop off, especially in 'blue space' which is known to develop improved physical and mental health. A connection to nature and the natural world and to become stewards of our environment. These factors alone spread deeply into the wider community and shape individuals to be passionate, resilient and care for others around them. Our fireworks night Social paddle shows this in abundance, wide age ranges, all sharing the same sense of wonder and connection, with the wider community on the land also experiencing the joy and togetherness of the community, different view points enjoying the same locale

How you can play your part
We completely appreciate that times are difficult right now, please only donate if you are able to and it wont leave you in any difficulties. You can still help without donating by helping spread our message, share, follow and comment on social media posts. Encourage family and friends to get out on the water with us in the near future.

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
