See Me Play are launching our Winter Art Fundraiser!

See Me Play is playscheme for neurodivergent and disabled children, young people (CYP), and their carers/families. See Me Play is a grassroots charity founded from lived experience, based in Margate.

Our first round of crowdfunding, almost two years ago (!!), meant that with the support of our community we could get See Me Play off the ground.

We have been able to provide much needed space for freedom, joy and autonomy in play to neurodivergent and disabled children and young people in our community. These sorts of spaces, that truly honour ND play and ways of being, are all too rare.

See Me Play has grown, and now hold regular play sessions at Garden Gate Project community gardens and at a local church hall and garden. We have also secured Lottery funding to pay our team and playworkers.

We have big dreams for See Me Play, and in the next 6 months we are hoping to not only continue but expand our offer in order to meet the needs of our community.

However we are a small neurodivergent team and it is a long windy road to secure funding into the future. So, we need your help to keep going.

We are launching this WINTER ART FUNDRAISER, with a selection of incredible works from neurodivergent, disabled and allied artists on offer.

Have a look below and at our rewards section to see what you can cop, donations are also very welcome. Keep your eyes peeled for further weekly drops of arts based rewards. THANK YOU! See Me Play 🎈

We will hand deliver locally if possible, but if you need shipping please donate an extra £3-5 to our crowdfunder. Any further queries please email [email protected] or DM instagram @seeme.play.

Parent/carer testimonials:

“A space where judgment disappears and play is of utmost importance. The freedom to be a child, to explore, to experience, to feel. Being accepted for who they are and letting the children create magic in every moment without any pressure to change. A place where children can be themselves at any given moment, in whatever way that is.”

“We love coming and are so grateful to have a space for O to be himself and for me to be with other people who understand the journey and the fight. Both him and I are seen at See Me Play and would be lost without you guys now!”

“ ... sensed the welcoming atmosphere the moment he raced through the gates. My shoulders instantly softened and relaxed…as I remembered I was in a space that didn’t need my apologies or explanation for my child just being himself!... It felt so free…my son felt the same. The volunteers are incredible - kind, knowledgable and calm!”

Set of 5 'See Me Play' greetings cards

Set of 5 Sticks (See Me Play) greetings cards printed from an acrylic painting of Asher. Asher loves music. When Asher was 2/3 Asher used to collect sticks. Asher would search for the best stick, then either break it in half to make drumsticks to play drums on the leaves of bushes, or break it 2 thirds of the way down to make a mic and stand, or use the stick as a whole, sideways, as an electric guitar. This painting is of Asher playing.
