To provide hygiene products, to people facing income insecurity, as part of ‘Second Helpings’ our food aid project.
Second Chance Medway Charity supports people enduring insecure housing and those facing food insecurity. We help Medway residents meet their basic needs through our Tenancy Support Centre and with our ‘Second Helpings‘ project, Medway‘s back up food store.
Through the Tenancy Support Centre, Second Chance Medway provides free services including: Housing Support to sustain tenancies, budgeting workshops including benefits advice, Mental Health support, a job club with training opportunities, support for 18-25 year olds, and a Crisis Support desk, where we can support and refer those in need to a partner organisation if required. The aim is to stop the revolving door of evictions and help clients secure permanent homes and enable children to remain in consistent education.
Second Helpings is a Food Aid project which enables people – including those not eligible for accessing Food Banks - to get fruit and vegetables, all pantry items, butchers’ meat, household goods, and hygiene products, all for a fraction of supermarket prices.
Second Chance Medway is there to support people in crisis and unable to cope, to provide them with a hot drink, a supportive ear and an opportunity to assess their situation and plan a route back to security.
Second Chance Medway works stronger together to defeat crisis and help build futures.
