Aim
To ensure Shetland has a seat at the table, I'll need your support to run the best possible campaign before May 2026.
My name is Hannah Mary Goodlad, and I’m your Shetland SNP candidate for 2026.
Shetland is my home. My childhood was spent hocking ida ebb, fishing in Burra, and working in all kinds of jobs across our islands. From salmon farms to the Bressa gut factory, behind the tills at Tesco and as a guide at our museum. Those early years taught me the values I still live by: community, fairness, and hard work.
That drive took me south to study Geology and Chemistry, and later into a global career in energy. Working from oil and gas to renewables and carbon capture with Equinor, Norway’s state energy company.
But no matter where I worked, Shetland was always home. So I came back - family and community brought me here for good.
I am standing because I believe Shetland is at a crossroads. We are rich in resources yet held back by high living costs, unreliable lifeline services, housing shortages, and young folk leaving. If we want to unlock our full potential, we need serious investment, bold ideas, and a strong Shetland voice at the table where decisions are made.
