Build a modular pool to expand swimming access, support school swimming, reduce waiting lists and improve water safety.
When Seachelles Swim School was established in 2013, our aim was simple: to help children and adults learn to swim in a supportive, friendly, and enjoyable environment.
Over the years, the business has grown far beyond what we originally imagined. We now teach hundreds of swimmers every week and have built strong relationships with families, schools, and local communities across Norfolk. While we are incredibly proud of that growth, we know there is still much more we can do.
Our long-term vision is to create a permanent home for Seachelles Swim School through the development of a dedicated modular swimming pool facility.
Having our own facility would allow us to take control of our future rather than relying on the availability of hired pool space. It would give us the opportunity to increase lesson capacity, reduce waiting lists, and provide greater consistency for the swimmers and families who place their trust in us every week.
More importantly, it would allow us to expand the positive impact we can have within the local community.
We want the facility to become a place where children gain confidence, families feel supported, schools can access high-quality swimming provision, and people of all ages can improve their health and wellbeing through aquatic activity.
Alongside our core swimming lesson programme, the facility would enable us to introduce the Swim Safe Programme, expand SEND provision, offer AquaFit and wellbeing sessions, and provide training opportunities for future swimming teachers and aquatic professionals.
We also see the facility as a valuable community resource. Dedicated training and meeting spaces would allow local organisations, education providers, and community groups to use the building, creating a welcoming and well-used environment throughout the week.
Our goal is not to become the biggest swim school in Norfolk. Our goal is to create the best possible environment for people to learn, develop confidence, stay safe around water, and enjoy the lifelong benefits that swimming can provide.
By combining our experience in swimming, education, and community engagement, we believe this project can deliver lasting benefits for children, families, schools, and local organisations for many years to come.
Ultimately, we hope to create a sustainable community asset that will continue serving Norfolk long into the future while helping more people gain access to swimming lessons, water safety education, and opportunities to improve their health and wellbeing.
