Aim
This project aims to create a music video centred on queer and trans actors and stories, exploring themes of intimacy.
WHO ARE WE?
Darling, Why? are an all masc lesbian band based in London. We write and regularly perform music that showcases lesbian stories. Our ongoing project is our new rock song 'Screaming In My Head' which is about lesbian love and queer relationships.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to highlight lesbians, particularly butch lesbians and trans people, in media. As a band, we focus on making music we genuinely care about and love, while using it as a platform to tell lesbian stories and share lived experiences. These narratives deserve space, visibility, and celebration.
In an industry dominated by commercialised artists and polished narratives, we want to offer something different. This project is about bringing light to an underrepresented community and creating art that feels raw, meaningful, and unapologetically queer.
THE PROJECT
The story of our music video explores themes of polyamory, expression, and passion, with a subtle splash of horror. Horror has always been a genre we've loved, and when developing this concept we wanted to integrate an old-school slasher feel, using it not just for shock, but as a tool for atmosphere, tension, and emotion.
