We need help to meet the 300+% increase in our electricity costs so we can continue and expand our activities for 4-18 year olds this winter
Scouting actively engages and supports young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society 1st Foots Cray Scout Group was formed over 100 years ago and provides regular weekly and weekend activities for boys and girls aged 4-18 in Foots Cray and Sidcup.
We have a very active Squirrel, Beaver, Cub, Scout and Explorer Sections who are helped by both Adult Volunteers and Young Leaders (aged 14-18) who deliver an active program
Our Group is open to all young people in the local area.
Our dedicated trained leaders provide weekly meeting and an opportunity to take part in both community and adventurous activities. Camping, water sports, archery, climbing and juts some of the events we have offered. We also take part and support the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme.
Our Scout hall is also available and used by other community groups.
We want to continue providing our provision of five exiting and fun meetings each week for the young people in the local community. Helping to support around 120 young people through the activties we provide in our Scout Group. To add additional meetings and activities at weekends, and to make our hall available to other local charities to use.
However the recent increase costs in electricity is pushing our heating bill up by over 300% adding around £1,200 to our costs so we can keep our meeting hall heated throughout the winter for all the people that already use it.
Adding more activities at weekends will add even more costs to heat and run the hall that we simply cannot meet without your help.
Whilst all our wonderful leaders and supporters volunteer their time freely we still need to raise funds to help with running costs, such as heating, camp costs (food, equipment costs and repairs), and we also help provide personal equipment (such as waterproof clothing, sleeping bags etc) to local families that simply cannot afford these at the moment due to their own cost of living increases.

So our ask is split into
