Who are we?
The Scottish Surfing Federation are sending a team of the best junior surfers in Scotland to compete at the Isa World Junior Surfing Championships in Rio, Brazil. The competition runs from the 24th November to 3rd December 2023. There are 9 competitors from different regions of Scotland and are between the ages of 12 and 18. They will have a support team with them.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We are crowdfunding on behalf of the Scottish Surfing Federation. All funds raised will help with the expenses of sending the junior surf team to Brazil to represent Scotland. The overall cost will be approx £25-£30k. We are crowdfunding to help with flight and accommodation costs.
How we’ll spend the money raised.
All money raised will go towards flights and accommodation costs.
Community impact
The SSF is the governing body for surf in Scotland. It supports all levels of surfing. This event will help promote surfing and the benefits of surfing including the opportunities it can lead to.
How you can play your part
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
