Towards the running costs of our beautiful community garden
Hi everyone. I'm Karen,CEO of the amazing Scotswood Garden.
I'm writing to ask for your help in raising money for the core work of Scotswood Garden this year. We are excited that the Save Our Wild Isles Community Fund will match your donations by 2:1 tripling anything you are able to give. For more information please see https://www.saveourwildisles.org.uk/community/fund
The Garden has been around for 28 years and is a fantastic space for people and wildlife. From the Garden we run a range of activities for the whole community to fulfil our mission:-to inspire and promote learning about nature, the environment and sustainable living, whilst having a positive impact on people’s health & wellbeing.
As CEO, I am incredibly proud to see our mission in action every day, whether it's through environmental education workshops and forest schools with local school children, our 5 inclusive, family play and youth groups which run every week, the work of our volunteers who make the Garden such a special place, our fantastic Elderberries project or our popular community days. In recent years, we have developed our work and income through a new plant nursery, Canny Plants, and Sticky Business, which sells homemade preserves, juices and cordials made from the produce we grow.
We have exciting plans for the future. Over the next 18 months, our dedicated volunteers will restore two of our ponds and enhance our forest garden. Plans for our new eco building are also well underway. Please keep an eye on our social media for regular updates @scotswoodgarden.
Your much-needed donations will go towards our running costs and to fund projects that are more difficult to fund through grants. Like most small charities, we have seen the cost of our bills rise over the last year and it's becoming increasingly difficult to secure funds for our work. We know that times are getting tougher for most of us so we appreciate any donations or other support you are able to give. The Garden wouldn't be anything without our community behind it. Please just get in touch if you'd like to know more about our work or how to get involved.
Thanks in advance for your support.
