Scorpions Cadets go to Sweden

Aim: Salford Scorpions Cadets want to Bring the Sting to Sweden! Young People competing in an international American Flag Football competition

Who are we?

Salford Scorpions Cadets are children and young people aged 8-16 who play Flag American Football every week in Ordsall. They have an awesome time learning to play ball for free, and getting to know each other, and brilliant coaches.

Salford Scorpions has teams for young people and adults, and is part of Lifecentre Salford. Lifecentre is a Christian charity that works alongside local people for community transformation. Based in Langworthy for 25 years, Lifecentre Salford has a range of projects chosen by the community to bring even more life to Salford.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Salford Scorpions have the chance to take 20 young people to Sweden to compete in the Pumpkin Bowl, an international Flag American football tournament. We want to be able to take every young person who would like to attend, regardless of their background. The young people will get the opportunity to play in competitive matches against other young people from across the world, improve their physical and mental health, travel on an aeroplane, build confidence in going abroad and make friendships for life. 

How we’ll spend the money raised

Your money will pay for:

Entry to the tournament

Accommodation and travel

Food 

Equipment and clothing bursaries 

Passport bursaries

Insurance and additional safeguarding training for coaches

Salford Scorpions is a community which offers positive activity and long-term committed relationships to young people when they really need it. By supporting our project you are investing in the next generation in Salford and giving young people an experience that they couldn't have without your support.

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
