Aim

Criminals rammed my bike the only independent transport I have.

Josh Doe a twenty three year old young man with severe learning disabilities, was woken on the morning of the 18th of December (Wednesday) by a neighbour reporting that his Honda scooter had been vandalised together with a neighbours car. During the night in the village of Marston Magna.

CCTV footage from one of the residence of the village revealed two assailants racing through the village at 4:47am at speed, exiting the vehicle wearing hoodies smashing the windows of a parked car, before getting back into their car and proceeding to ram Joshes scooter, causing over a thousand pounds worth of damage.

Further information received revealed that windows had been smashed at the local pub minutes prior to the attack on the vehicles. A resident of the village setup a crowdfunding page to assist the pub in repairing the windows, upon hearing of the damage to Joshes bike they have donated part of the funds to help repair his bike and get him back on the road, which we are truly great full.

Josh a former pupil of Fairmead  Special Education School Yeovil has been devastated at the loss of his own independent means of transport especially at this time of year. Unable to take part in his voluntary work at a local food bank. His social activities of visiting his brothers and sisters and indeed his nephews and nieces has been curtailed because of this mindless criminal behaviour and act of hatred towards a vulnerable disabled person.

Josh a well liked young man volunteers for the Marston Magna Action Group (affectionately known as the “barrow boy” within the group) helping do things within his local community, from clearing leaf fall from footpaths and village hall car park, assisting building this year’s village bonfire, and trimming and straightening the footpath edges at St Marys Church.

Because of Joshes disabilities his income is very limited, his insurance is “third party fire and theft” and because the culprits and vehicle have not been able to be identified, he is facing a time of no independent transport while he saves to have his bike repaired back to road worthiness.

I appeal to anyone that may have information relating to these criminals please report it to the police on 101.

Thank you on behalf of Josh in anticipation of any donations and taking time to read this.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, best regards Rob (his Step-father)
