Help us pay a local carpenter to make desks for primary school children in Northern Ghana, who currently learn sitting on the floor
I am a UK teacher and chaplain setting off for Ghana in two months time to take part in the Easter celebrations there. A Methodist Primary School in the village of Nadowli, near Yendi in Northern Ghana will be one of the places we visit on our trip. But the children at the school currently have no desks and are trying to learn whilst seated on the floor.
Sitting at a desk to learn to read and write is something that we take for granted here in the UK. Can you help to change the learning experience of a child in Ghana?
We would like to pay a local carpenter to produce desks for the children that will be ready by the time we visit. The desks will cost £20 each to make and 60+ are needed. Your donation will make a real difference. Thank you!
UPDATE: Thank you all for your generosity so far. If we raise more than we need for desks, we will use the extra for other school equipment to support learning in the school.
