SCARBROUGH SOUTH BAY FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR

Aim

We want to keep the Fireworks on Scarborough seafront alive and therefore are proposing a Free Organised Public Fireworks Display!

We understand the importance of keeping the tradition of Fireworks on Scarborough beach on November 5th. 

However, we also understand how big the event is getting and in turn increases the risk to everyone on the beach and those who are setting off Fireworks.

We are planning to close off the South Bay beach on the 5th November 2026. 

Then we Glittering Sky Fireworks would arrange and provide a fully risk assessed, insured, licensed and sky filling 20 minute firework spectacular that would light up the south bay like never seen before. 

We believe this helps keep the Scarborough fireworks tradition alive but also ensures that everyone can have a safe and enjoyable bonfire night.

We believe the pros to our idea are: 

🎆 Fireworks designed, setup and let off by an experienced team with all the required training and insurances to ensure the safest display possible. 

🎆 Reduces the amount of firework debris and waste being left on the beach for others to clean up. We remove and safely destroy all our spent fireworks and leave minimal trace. 

🎆 A boost to the local community. Opportunity for retail and food outlets to make extra income on sales to spectators. 

🎆 Less work for our already hard working emergency services. With the beach being closed and only one large organised display, less chance of injury from Fireworks and no illegal use of fireworks or bonfires on the beach

🎆 Fireworks that only last 20 minutes, reducing the long hours of noise impact to local residents and pets. 

We would estimate to need to crowd fund at cost price £15,000 to put on the display. With a further £5,000 being donated towards the costs by ourselves.

Costs that we would need to cover: 

⭐️ 20 minutes worth of proffesional quality retail fireworks. 

⭐️10 million Public Liability Insurance to cover the event.

⭐️ Marshal's/Security to help keep the beach clear and everyone safe.

⭐️ First Aid provisions from St John's Ambulance.

⭐️ Public Event Licence from the council. 

⭐️ Road Closures to help keep spectators safe. 

We will be collecting donations on the night for local charities. The main charity being Yorkshire Air Ambulance. If we raise over the costs of the event. Any additional monies raised will be donated to Yorkshire Air Ambulance. 

Many thanks for your help and donation, it's about time a free organised bonfire fireworks display happened in Scarborough and together as a community we can make it happen and ensure our community has a safe and enjoyable bonfire night whilst raising vital funds for the community.
