I am fully working person that has a dream. And Chris my partner has bought into it.

The dream is to own my own private freehold pub and to save the British pub while proving a meeting hub for its community. 

An opportunity has a reason to purchase a freehold pub in Great Bourton, North Oxfordshire. It was a former Brewery owned pub. So a great opportunity to fall back into private hands. The purchase price advertised is £395,000. And I’m looking to raise 50% of the funds.

Given today’s economic system, it is hard for anyone who is not backed by money to get into the property ladder. Especially when it’s commercial. Small business have very little chance to raise the funds required. I’m taking this opportunity to see if the locals as well as other people seeing this post, share the same beliefs as myself and would like to see this pub provide a service to its local community once again.

In order to realise this dream we will to raise a significant amount of funds. This includes the purchase of the property well as significant costs for its refurbishment.

My vision is to run as a pub once more and also offer workshops and crafts for sale. Supporting local crafters and small businesses. The aim also is to source as many supplies as possible from local businesses. To minimise our carbon footprint.

A little bit about myself. Coming from Germany and having lived in the UKfor the past 30 years I feel more English than German. I love the English countryside and I see myself fulfilling my dream here. Heading up a team of risk and audit professionals. I love my full-time job however I also want to give back to the community. I think community becomes more important in this really challenging environment that we currently living in.
