Welcome to Mask Community.
We are a Social Enterprise with the capacity to make 10,000 masks for the general public, so that's why we are raising money to go into full production and bring our furloughed staff members back to work.
Our masks are fantastic because;
* they are reusable
* they are washable
* they are comfortable
* they are virus resistant
* they are hand-made in Britain by an award winning Social Enterprise
Our non surgical face masks are made for the general public, our aim is to alleviate pressure on the NHS by saving medical grade PPE for those who really need it.
Our masks provide all the protection we require in day-to-day life. Designed to be worn many times, the masks are washable, comfortable and the virus resistant treatment lasts for the lifetime of the fabric.
ANTI-MICROBIAL
Our masks are made using Panaz Sheild Plus Technology.

Because of the nature of the Anti-Microbial properties the wearer will be extra protected so if you touch your face the virus will not live on the fabric. You can wash your mask every night and the protection lasts for the lifetime of the fabric.
Wearing face masks in public will become much more common, most of us will need a mask. Rather than contributing to landfill by buying and throwing away disposable masks, our reusable fabric masks help keep all of us safe for longer.
Our masks are proudly #MadeInBritain and the production of them provides local jobs. As a social enterprise, supporting our area economy is at the heart of our work. Most members of our team are graduates of our wellbeing and skills training and development programmes.

ABOUT US
The Sewing Rooms is a Social Enterprise founded by long-time friends and business partners, Paula Gamester and Maureen Fazal. Our work directly addresses social exclusion by supporting some of society’s most vulnerable adults - including former prisoners, domestic violence survivors, refugees, older isolated individuals, long-term unemployed, and people living with mental health conditions.
We provide training in heritage craft skills, with a focus on upcycling, sewing and upholstery. Our courses are tailored specifically to each group’s needs. We help participants put together individual development plans - for education, employment and emotional wellbeing and resilience. When possible, we guide participants into paid employment or self-employment.
Our social programmes are financed by our commercial work that usually includes soft furnishings and bespoke curtain manufacturing.
We invest our profits into our local community. Every sale of a mask helps us support others. If we achieve our fundraising target, we will be able to bring our furloughed staff back to work and continue to deliver meaningful programmes in the community.
OUR TEAM
Our manufacturing teams is made up of Karen, Carol, Michelle, Jane, Laura and Paula. Together they have over 160 years experience in manufacturing, interior design and costume design.
