Woolpack Live is part of a national initiative launched by the MVT to prevent the permanent closure of music venues most at risk due to the crisis.
Woolpack Live has been a bustling grassroots music venue since it’s launch in 2013.
Despite the many challenges, we want to carry on being a place where all are welcome, to create and enjoy live music, bringing a diverse programme of artists to the streets of Doncaster. We miss our audiences and the artists, but hope, with your ongoing support either through donating, purchasing some merch from this platform or just helping out by sharing this page, to be be able to continue to be the, heart of grassroots music in the area.
REWARDS
Music Venue Trust have created Save Our Venues Merchandise including T-Shirts, Face Masks, Snoods and more which can be chosen as a reward for a donation to our CrowdFunder.
Why are we crowdfunding?
Our music venue risks permanent closure to be honest because we have run out of money and options to continue due to having being closed since the mandated closure in march and have not been able to reopen and earn an income in any meaningful capacity since.
Your donations will be used to pay the bills we have just to remain shut such as rent and utilities to allow us to be in a place to reopen on the 1st of April which we believe is the earliest point where it will be feasible given current timings.
About Woolpack Live
The Woolpack Live opened its doors towards the end of July 2013 and since then through trials and tribulations has seen upwards of a thousand acts grace our stage from random passers by on our open mic nights, through our regular home town hero's such as Groom Lake Fugitives, Inequality Street or Resurrection. To our regular acts from further afield such as Cellar Door Moon Crow, Counting Coins and Stop Stop. All the way to international acts such as Black Aces, Crazytown, Double Experience, (hed) PE and Massive. And everyone in-between that we wish we could list.
Then there is all of you, our faithful audience we've seen birthdays celebrated, proposals made, we've seen your highs and maybe even a few of your lows but we've been through it together and hope to do so for many more years to come.
About Save Our Venues - The Red List
During the last 8 months, Music Venue Trust and Crowdfunder have worked together to prevent the closure of hundreds of grassroots music venues. With no end to the crisis in sight, we are now refocusing that work to spotlight those venues under most imminent threat of permanent closure. The #SaveOurVenues Red List highlights the grassroots music venues at most risk.
Right now.
We’ve checked all the available funding, financial support, furlough schemes, business support for these venues, and what is on offer is not enough to prevent them being lost. These 30 venues are on the Critical List and need your help.
These grassroots venues play a crucial role in the development of British music, nurturing local talent, providing a platform for artists to build their careers and develop their music and their performance skills. These venues also play a vital role in the cultural and economic vibrancy of any village, town or city.
