Always on

This project successfully funded on 7th September 2026, you can still support them with a donation.

Aim

Help secure the future of Open Table: LGBTQIA+ inclusive faith communities where people can come as they are.

'I remember crying a little, because I was so overwhelmed with this feeling of love and acceptance, and of belonging.'

For 18 years, Open Table has built places where LGBTQIA+ people of faith can belong without hiding or apologising.

Thank you for helping us keep the table open

Our #SaveOTN emergency appeal has now closed - but the project is continuing as an 'Always On' fundraiser so people can donate at any time.

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of more than 100 supporters, we raised £17,272 in just nine weeks during the campaign - £10,258 via Crowdfunder and £7,014 in direct donations - exceeding our original £16,000 target.

The support we've received has given the Open Table Network vital breathing space as we continue to build a sustainable future for the charity.

But the longer-term funding challenge hasn't gone away. So we've decided to keep this Crowdfunder open, allowing people who discover our work after the campaign has ended to contribute towards the future of Open Table.

If you believe LGBTQIA+ people deserve places of welcome, belonging and hope where they can explore and celebrate faith without hiding or apologising, you can still support us here.

What your money funds

Your donation funds our small national team, which:

  • Helps new communities get started
  • Supports local leaders with training, mentoring, and coordination
  • Connects people across the network, breaking the isolation many LGBTQIA+ Christians feel.

As one Open Table member put it:

'If it ceased to exist tomorrow, we would have a vacuum of people who wouldn't necessarily have a spiritual home and wouldn't have a place to worship.'

Lives changed

 Our latest independent research found:

  • 84% of members said taking part has 'very much' or 'extremely' reduced their feelings of isolation
  • 87% said an LGBTQIA+ affirming faith space was 'very' or 'extremely' important to them
  • 94% say Open Table has directly improved their wellbeing.

One member said:

'It's helped me heal in so many ways from past religious-related trauma. It's helped me reconcile my Christian identity with my gender identity.'

Behind every percentage point is a person who no longer has to choose between their faith and who they are.

Your donation protects their place at the table.

The challenge hasn't gone away

Our emergency appeal has given us important breathing space, but the longer-term funding challenge remains.

Our multi-year infrastructure funding has ended and the funding landscape for LGBTQIA+ organisations remains extremely difficult. We are continuing to pursue longer-term funding and explore ways to make OTN more financially sustainable.

Every donation now helps us build that future.

Thank you for investing in a safer future together.
