We're still collecting donations
On the 1st December 2020 we'd raised £973 with 30 supporters in 219 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

IMPORTANT UPDATE PLEASE READ
Last week we had some great news to share, we were awarded a grant from Arts Council England for our Americana festival and creative work, and funding to fix the lifts for more accessibility. With a great programme ahead of gigs, poetry and community work as well for the year and a fantastic weekend ahead with poetry, gigs, Crunch On Fire and so much more.
Please hold all of this loveliness in your minds when you read the following and remember that is what Phoenix and Fiery Bird are about and that is what all our team work for and that we always come back. This is a hard one though.
Today, we came in to find that the building had been broken into, all of the copper piping and cabling and the tank in the roof had been ripped out and stolen. The building was flooded by mains water pouring down which caused damage.
They also got into the venue area and stole some of our PA, a mixing desk and instruments that volunteers had secured by years of fundraising. This has been reported to the police.
The building is now secured however with the water off, toilets ruined we cannot open to the public.
So the events this week are regretfully cancelled. Surrey Choices SEN adults work teams, Thursday Open Mic, Write Out Loud Woking, Lovely Music Night, Crunch On Fire. We are sorry to all of those who work so hard to put these events on and who worked so hard to get this venue open. We are working with our landlords to make it safe and open again.
We are all devastated at another setback but we know this project is worthwhile, and we know with everyone’s support we can make it fly as we intend and Woking deserves. We will have more news when we can reopen and will be working towards that now.

Your donations will be used to help keep the venue going by covering losses and, securing the future. We work with individuals, local charities and creative people of all ages, offering supported internships and volunteering, social spaces for SEN adults, workshop spaces for people who have survived different traumas to express themselves, light and sound engineering training, gardening space, local band nights, beginners open mic, spoken word, open source arts, meeting rooms, video shoots. Our plan is for 20% of our work to be in outreach spaces where people ask for support/arts/creativity be taken to them
With your help, we can prevent the closure of our venue, support more groups who can increase the impact of their work and members of our community who are going through tough times at the moment, increase confidence and have a unique safe welcoming space where people can come to gigs, workshops, poetry, arts, gardening and enjoy our outdoor spaces in the middle of Woking Town Centre.
We ask project owners to honour their rewards wherever possible but please note that all pledges are donations and there is no guarantee that you will receive any rewards from the project owner. Please see our Terms of Use for more information regarding rewards for pledges.
