Aim: We need to raise £20,000 from the British people to underwrite a Judicial Review against Keir Starmer’s secretive and unlawful Chagos deal

Help Us Stop the Chagos Island Betrayal – Judicial Review Crowdfunder

We’re now just £20,000 away from launching a full legal challenge that could stop a national betrayal.

Will you help us? Thanks to our generous Chairman Ben Habib, and the support of our Great British PAC patrons, we have already raised the funds needed to initiate a Judicial Review against the Government’s Chagos deal. But we now urgently need a further £20,000 from the British public to underwrite this action.

This is to protect us from a claim by the Government for their legal costs.

  • If we win, your donation won’t be touched.
  • But if the Government hits us with court costs, we must be protected — and that’s where you come in. Your generosity will protect the brave client bringing this case.

Why This Legal Challenge Matters

Parliament is about to vote on one of the most shameful deals in modern British history:

  • The surrender of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius — a vital UK military stronghold in the Indian Ocean.
  • A £30 billion+ payout — agreed without public consultation or Parliamentary consent.
  • The betrayal of the Chagossian people, who were never consulted and may now be permanently cut off from their homeland.
  • Potential damage to the most precious and protected marine area worldwide.

This undemocratic and racially discriminatory deal was signed without scrutiny, without a vote, and without transparency.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer has misled the country — claiming China opposed the deal, when media reports show Beijing is celebrating.

But there is still time to stop it.

The treaty has NOT been ratified. We have one final legal route to expose the Government’s misconduct — and give MPs the truth before they vote.

The Legal Case: Strong, Urgent, Strategic

Our legal team — including a top King’s Counsel — believes this Judicial Review is on solid ground. Key arguments include:

  • Failure to consult Chagossian communities prior to the agreement
  • Irrational disregard for human rights, cultural heritage, and public interest
  • Breach of the Equality Act 2010, especially impacting non-Mauritian Chagossians in the UK
  • Discrimination on the basis of race, nationality, or ethnicity
  • Procedural unfairness, including failure to properly survey those affect affected
  • Misinterpretation of international law — falsely claiming protections for Chagossians when it could not be included in the treaty

This is a fight for justice, accountability, and democratic integrity.

Why Now?

This legal action must be filed immediately to be heard before Parliament ratifies the treaty.

If we miss this window, the damage will be permanent.

We’ve already raised enough to get the legal team into action — but we still need £20,000 to underwrite and protect this challenge if the Government retaliates with costs.

What’s at Stake

  • The loss of vital British territory — weakening national security
  • A £30+ billion taxpayer burden — with no public mandate
  • The disenfranchisement of the Chagossian people, who may be cut off forever from their homeland
