About the project

Hi, my name is Yousif Sadik, and I love bicycles. I am the founder of Bike Bros and am here to give Guildford the fully independent bicycle shop it needs and deserves. For the last year I have been running Bike Bros on the University campus and my vision is a community and environmentally friendly bike shop that provides every kind of service for every kind of cyclist.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances the University of Surrey has decided that Bike Bros can no longer operate within campus. I see this as an opportunity to expand, because I believe Guildford needs an independent bike shop with a personal touch, and I need your support. That’s why I'm launching a crowdfunding campaign so we can continue our mission to be provide the best bicycle service in Surrey!

Whether you come in to fix a puncture or need a full service, you can expect a warm welcome and a personal touch with every visit. Target and goals

Hitting our target will cover operational costs for one year, and we will be able to continue offering an independent, community-centred bike shop in Guildford. In return for your support, I will offer you one of our classic service packs.

What will I do with the money raised from your support…

I have yet to secure a premises and am actively in search for the right location to make it a successful community bike shop. My vision is to bring a bike servicing into the heart of the community. The £25,000 that needs to be raised will help to fulfil the dream, by giving the funding to cover the overheads for a small independant bicycle shop. The money will be used to cover

• Insurance

With a space for Bike Bros we can secure the future of the project by offering a more substantial service to the local community. More people can be involved down the line, as volunteers, and in time staff and make this into the community hub for everyone.

1) Why do you have to move? 

Due to unforeseen circumstances the University of Surrey has decided that Bike Bros can no longer operate within campus. It is very unfortunate and I would have liked Bike Bros to stay at its current location. However, there was no other option given and hence we are not operating at the University anymore.

2) When do you have to move? 

We have already moved out (27th of August) and the lease has been terminated. Unfortunately Bike Bros does not currently have a location to operate until the crowdfunder reaches its target.

3) How much do you need to raise? 

The estimate of the total costs of overheads is £25,000. We need to raise that amount for the crowdfunder campaign to succeed, and if we don't hit our target, everyone will get their money back but then Bike Bros will not be able to continue in Guildford. If we raise more then it will help Bike Bros to grow and make the shop even bigger and better and provide a better service for the local community.

4) Have you found a new home for Bike Bros?

Yes, however the space is currently under offer though the proposal has been sent through. Even if this space doesn't work out, once the funds from the crowdfunding campaign have been secured, it will put Bike Bros in a stronger position to slam down a deposit when the right place does come up!
