To protect Turning Point UK from being cancelled.
Turning Point UK is under threat. In recent months we have noticed an increasing assault by big tech social media giants targeting and removing our posts, banning admin accounts, and threatening our pages with bans.
If they are successful in removing us from these forums of public opinion, our mission becomes even harder. Alternative social media sites provide some solutions to this problem, but alternative platforms are less frequented by the people who need to hear our message the most. If our advocacy for free speech, freer markets, and personal responsibility is too extreme for the social media giants, then we face a civilisation defining problem.
When opinions are prevented from being heard openly, especially in times of change like we have faced in the past two years, the powers in our society become even more powerful. If you aren’t allowed to hear an alternative view, soon you won’t be able to vote for it.
In the past year we even had a GoFundMe campaign cancelled because our opinions are unacceptable to the powers that be. This makes our work even more difficult, but we must continue.
We therefore want to step up our outreach programme with both students and other people so that we can have face to face discussions and ensure our vital message is broadcast in every city and town in Britain.
We also plan to hit activist cities like Bristol and Brighton, and with powerful literature aim to challenge the extremist views held by the radical minority that dwell there.
Can you help us? Donations allow us to produce all our content, as well as activism materials and great in-person events across the country. We are currently seeking to upgrade some of our recording gear to produce better content, stream our events, and reach a wider audience than ever before.
We ensure donations make as much difference as possible, and we run TPUK with an efficiency that we believe no other political organisation is able to match. If all of our followers donated just £1 we wouldn’t need to fundraise for years, and we could be even more focused on our political goals to make this country a better place for everyone who lives here.
