We need your help to keep the Star of Greenwich's doors open

With the general election underway, the decision on our Community Ownership Fund grant is delayed, and it might be months before we find out if we've secured the funding for the only community owned, not for profit pub in Greenwich. 

This cherished local pub isn't just a place to grab a drink; it's a vibrant community hub that hosts live music, family parties, community events, and supports local charities and initiatives. We're launching a new crowdfunding campaign to ensure we can continue to serve our community during these uncertain times.

In our first year of operations, The Star has become more than a pub. We've hosted numerous community events, supported local artists, and become a home for groups like English for Action and Plateful Café. We've seen firsthand how The Star has helped reduce isolation, supported mental health, and boosted local pride and economic activity.

Our Plans for the Future

Our vision for The Star extends far beyond a traditional pub. Plans include:

• Upgrading upstairs to create a multifunctional space suitable for workshops, performances, and family activities.
• Creating an AirBnB flat upstairs to help make everything more sustainable
• Expanding our partnerships with local businesses and cultural organisations like Avocuddle and Greenwich Skeptics.
• Launching training and employment programs in hospitality to help local youth and marginalized groups.
