New stretch target
Our stretch goal includes covering our bases by making our takeaway service permanent after COVID-19 by converting our storeroom into a bakery and pizza kitchen.
Paying it forward
Phil & Ben have operated The Salutation Inn public house in The Gibb near Castle Combe since 2018.
Started on a shoestring, with life savings, personal loans and a lot of hard work to turn it into the thriving community pub it has become. Like so many businesses across the hospitality industry, we have had to completely change our business and shut our doors.
With so many people offering guidance and so many lovely messages of support, we are determined to weather this storm.
We're also grateful that we can put our team into the furlough scheme so that we can return to work together at the end of all of this.
We're reaching out to our community to help save us.
However, we need to save The Salutation Inn so that there is a job for us all at the end of this all.
We've been providing a takeaway and grocery delivery service since the lockdown has started, but our overheads remain the same, and the funding available from the business support packages has not yet started trickling through to us.
We have reached a point where realistically, we could be facing a three+ month closure, missing the important summer months' trading. This isn't something that we could have prepared for and we need help to cover our existing supplier debt, tax and wage costs to survive the shutdown.
We don't expect something for nothing, so we've put together a range of rewards ready for when we reopen.
All contributors will also have their name included in our Roll Call of Thanks, which we will have hanging on the wall honouring those who have contributed to the preservation of The Salutation Inn.
Our Rewards
For every £1 pledged now, we will add 20% to the value in the form of a voucher, to be used when we reopen.
What are the terms & conditions of the pledges?
- No refunds for pledges, but we are happy for them to be transferable.
- The vouchers are valid for one year from our reopening date and can be spent on any transaction in the pub - you don't have to use it for the suggested way of spending it.
- Please note that the name you enter will be the name used on the voucher. If you are buying a gift for someone, please use their name. We will be collating the vouchers and posting them as soon as possible so that you have them available for when we reopen.
