About #SaveThe30 - The Red List
During the last 8 months, Music Venue Trust and Crowdfunder have worked together to prevent the closure of hundreds of grassroots music venues. With no end to the crisis in sight, we are now refocusing that work to spotlight those venues under most imminent threat of permanent closure. The #SaveOurVenues Red List highlights the grassroots music venues at most risk.
Right now.
We’ve checked all the available funding, financial support, furlough schemes, business support for these venues, and what is on offer is not enough to prevent them being lost. These 30 venues are on the Critical List and need your help.
These grassroots venues play a crucial role in the development of British music, nurturing local talent, providing a platform for artists to build their careers and develop their music and their performance skills. These venues also play a vital role in the cultural and economic vibrancy of any village, town or city.
Please donate, share this page widely and do what you can to help us to make sure our grassroots music venues survive this crisis.
Rossi Bar (Smaller sister venue to The Green Door Store) is part of a national initiative launched by Music Venue Trust to prevent the closure of hundreds of independent music venues.
Hi folks,
We want to say a huge thank you to everyone again for all the amazing support we have received. For donations, for buying merch and for SO many lovely messages. We are SO grateful! Thank you!
However, we wanted to give you an update on The Rossi & Green Door Store and our plans going forward as we still need your help..
Green Door Store was successful in securing an ACE Emergency funding grant which saved us from going insolvent by the end of Sept 2020. We were then also relieved that our application to the Cultural Recovery Fund was also successful, seeing the Venue safe to the end of March 2021. This is wonderful news and a huge relief as we approach our 10th year as an independent Grassroots Music Venue.
Unfortunately, our smaller venue, The Rossi bar was unsuccessful in both the Emergency and the Cultural Recovery Fund. We can only speculate that this is because we are a very young venue and that the competition for funding was very high. Our regulars will know that prior to lockdown we were showcasing 4- 5 gigs and two club nights a week. We are a unique space, which provides an ideal first stepping stone for brand new bands, artists and promoters before they move up to the bigger shows. We are passionate about supporting our creative music scene and the local community.
The funding received for the Green Door Store will allow us to pay our rent and bills until we are able to reopen next year. Unfortunately, this does not cover the Rossi bar’s ongoing costs while we still have to remain closed.
So, the good news is, we will be releasing lots of new merch (great for Christmas gift ideas) plus more rewards on our Crowdfunder. All money raised will go towards covering Rossi's cost so we can continue providing live music to you lovely people in the (hopefully) near future.
