To cover the interim costs of setting up a Community Benefit Society in advance of a community share initiative to buy the pub.

The Old Neighbourhood Inn has been a beloved community pub in Chalford Hill since the 1860s, a gathering place for locals for generations. However, it is now at risk of permanent closure. The Chalford Hill Community Benefit Group is working to save the Old Neighbourhood by bringing it into community ownership. We have the opportunity to purchase the pub, but we need your help urgently to raise £5000 to pay for professional advice, such as a surveyor's report and essential legal advice, plus the cost of fees and immediate unavoidable expenses. This will help us to make a strong offer and ensure that we are making a sound investment.
Without funds in the bank, we will be unable to make the progress that we now need to at this critical point.
The professional fees we need to fund now are a one-off expense and are not recoverable from any future purchase or investment. This means that we need to raise this money separately from the money we need to purchase the pub.
We are asking the community to come together and help us save the Old Neighbourhood for the long-term. Any donation, no matter how small, will make a difference.
