Save the high street save my gallery studio

Hi I'm Tom Holland, an established Cornish artist of over 20 years. with my public gallery and studio on Penryn high street Cornwall for the last ten years.  My work is collected by all sorts of people and I have regular exhibitions in Galleries such as Gallery Tresco, Isles of Scilly,

I need your help on two fronts.

Firstly, to continue the ongoing development of an integrated coaching and encouragement of school age artists which at the moment I am doing on a totally voluntary basis , giving talks at schools and having groups of students here in the  studio..I started this at the school that I went to. but would like to expand this as it has been so appreciated and entirely different from anything that they can gain on the curriculum.

But this is ready to take to the next level, to provide studio time and experience with myself and other guest artists for the encouragement of young artists and their creativity.

This has been my vision for many years to collaborate with local schools. This would require limited specific funding for the addition of equipment of £3500 for easels , paints, and brushes for groups of up to twelve which the studio can accommodate.

However this is all under threat together with the gallery itself as the landlord has decided to sell it!! This brings me to the second request for your support.

I am seeking to purchase the property as it has taken years to build and establish the gallery and how impossible it is to find any rental property in Cornwall?

I wish to continue with my existing gallery and the projects being developed in Penryn.

There is a growing creative hub in Penryn with three other galleries established since I've been here and we don't want to lose the high street to another holiday let.

I'm seeking funding of £45.000 to provide a deposit on a commercial mortgage .

I am committed to remaining in this gallery and continue being part of a creative thriving hub of working artists.
