This project aims to keep The Cañon Cinema operating so the community of Cañon City has a local movie theater.
Operating a locally owned independent cinema comes with significant challenges, which is why we need the support of Cañon City, Fremont County, and the surrounding community. As the saying goes, "It takes a village." Local movie theaters create lasting memories for families and friends; they serve as gathering places to share and experience stories and as cultural centers for our community. Additionally, movie theaters provide valuable employment opportunities that support career development and leadership skills, and serve as first jobs for many.
The economics are tough, so we need your financial support to help with escalating operating expenses. The funds raised will go directly to The Cañon's operating expenses including film rental, utilities, wages, and vendor costs. It will all be spent locally and directly to support the theater.
For those who do support this campaign to Save The Cañon Cinema, we will have a donors + supports only end of summer blockbuster party.
