Help bring the historic Bell from the old Bell pub to the new Bellfield Primary School
Bellfield Junior and Infant Schools in Northfield, Birmingham, are amalgamating to form Bellfield Primary School, which is launching in September 2026. This is good news for the local community as it will result in a stronger, more integrated Primary School which can continue to serve local families for future generations.
To celebrate the re-launch of the new school, we would like to bring the old bell from the historic Bell pub to the school. The pub was situated on nearby Northfield High Street. Since its closure, the old Bell from the pub has been housed at 723a Bristol Road South (which was most recently a Costa). The building is currently closed and the bell is not accessible to the community. We want to bring it to the school to make it accessible again, to preserve this part of Northfield's heritage, while giving it a new lease of life for the future. We would love to display the bell in the new school and ring the bell to celebrate significant achievements in the lives of our children.
We need to raise money for the safe extraction and transport of the bell from its current location to the school. As you can imagine, with council budgets being as stretched as they are, the school doesn't have the reserves to fund this, so we are looking to the local community and inviting support for this.
