Your support makes a difference
We are useful part of local community and replace non-existent private art centre open to general public during regular hours 7 days a week,
I work with my wife Kate and together we spend most of our time and money to support need of local community of all walks of life. We present regular exhibitions of artists we knew before as well as new discoveries. Several times per year we hire our space - at a modest price - to artists who prefer to show their work themselves. We feel needed and we have amazing response, from both young and senior residents here - and not only. It is not easy for artists to exhibit in London where most places are very commercial and do not waste time and money on unknown passers by. We have friendly attitude and are approachable but not naive. What we often do is helping beginner artists to organise their show, to prepare exhibits and display, to make a catalogue of artworks and a CV, to became more public and commercial. So we combine our business acumen with public relations work. Our vision is to continue as long as possible and to stay useful to creative people here. We spend all of the money we earn at the gallery for our expenses, we do not take salaries as we both have part time jobs, and we are happy doing it. We started in this particular place in 2018 and all went well until sometime two years ago, when under the new government of Keir Starmer money seemed to evaporate and we started having problems paying local rates and Covid-related bank loans. We would very much like to raise £20.000 in order to break even with present payments, which will enable us to continue.
