Stobo Hope: Petition for Judicial Review lodged

Court of Session, Edinburgh

Solicitors acting for the Stobo Residents Action Group lodged a petition for judicial review to the Court of Session, Edinburgh on Tuesday 16th April 2024. This petition (among other things) seeks to reverse the decision by Scottish Forestry in January 2024 to approve the proposed Stobo Hope forestry project without requesting an Environmental Impact Assessment.

Following the petition being lodged, there may be a permission hearing and if permission is granted for judicial review, a substantive hearing will take place at a later date.

Fundraising so far

The Stobo Residents Action Group Ltd and local community are extremely grateful for your generosity towards this crowdfunder. Many of you shared concerns about sitka plantations that are we believe are widely held, particularly by rural communities and environmentalists.

We need to raise more funds and would be most grateful if you could let others know of our crowdfunder page.
