Can you help us save Ricardo? He broke 3 of his little legs in a terrible accident. We can get him back to good health but need your help!
Our beloved happy, adorable, sometimes cheeky & f-ing cool cat Ricky, aka Ricardo, named after dearest Ricardo Villalobos, needs your help. He had a bad fall from a 3-story building, and while he somehow survived, his injuries are severe and need a lot of surgery which we’ve been told will cost up to £15k! He is insured, but sadly they are only covering up to £3k. We have been assured his quality of life can go back to normal if he can undergo surgery, so it’s down to us and our cat-loving community to help save Ricardo, just like we saved fabric (his fave club). We hope one day we can actually take him when he’s got his dancing feet back up and running.
We have already raised a generous amount on the 'other platform' which is why our target is reduced here.
We know times are extremely hard right now, and our purses are tight, but if you can spare anything at all for our Ricardo fund (and share this page) - this will go a very long way, no matter how big or small.
If you know us, you will know we never ask for any help, but this time we need you!
If I've ever helped you out, cooked you food, given you a lift or sorted you out with anything, then please consider this some sort of gratitude/re-payment.
As a thank you for helping out and parting with your hard-earned cash, some of our dear friends have generously donated some hefty prizes, which we will put into the Save Ricardo raffle. Anyone who donates £50+ will automatically be submitted into the Tier1 raffle. All donations below will be entered into Tier2. The raffle will end in 2 weeks (November 14th at midday). We will message all the winners directly via Crowdfunder to arrange their prizes, so keep an eye out!

Today our beautiful cat Ricardo slipped and fell from the 3rd-floor balcony of his home. His fall, which was broken by hard concrete, resulted in breaking 3 of his legs and damaging his jaw leading to his canine tooth protruding into his gums (ouch). He miraculously managed to drag himself into our neighbour’s apartment (luckily, a good friend of ours) who lives on the ground floor. She recognised him and came knocking on our door immediately. This stroke of luck and kindness is a big reason he’s still alive.

He’s currently waiting alone in a kennel at the vet, unable to move until they can operate on him early tomorrow. His injuries are so severe that they have put him on the strongest painkillers (morphine for cats), being topped up every 4 hours, to try and subside the pain and discomfort he’s feeling.

So the big hurdle we face, which is literally life and death for Ricardo, is to come up with the money to pay for the ridiculously high costs to fix his “impressive list of injuries” (Quote: Jon, the vet). The total bill for everything will be coming to around £15,000. We can claim a maximum of £3,000 from the insurance but after that we’re on our own. So we’re looking to raise £10k from you lovely people to help pay for all the operations and aftercare that he so desperately needs.
We have already raised a generous amount on the 'other platform' which is why our target is reduced here.

Ricardo came into our lives in the summer of 2020 (you could call him a lockdown baby), being our light during the darkest of days. A global pandemic, a con-man who defrauded us & a sinking business all contributed to Maral going through a state of depression. It felt like the right time to bring some joy into her life, so we went to meet Ricardo when he was just 9 weeks old. It was love at first sight. As soon as he came home, the first night he slept on us like a furry scarf, it changed her. Her light began to shine again.
He’s not just a cat. He saved her. He enriches our lives every day, and we love him so dearly. For these reasons and many more, we could not even entertain the option of putting him down.
