Help us secure Chalk Coffee’s future, protect a much-loved independent coffee shop and keep serving exceptional coffee in Alfriston

Chalk Coffee Co is our little dream.

When we opened Chalk, we had no idea whether it would work. We simply wanted to create a tiny independent coffee shop serving genuinely brilliant coffee — somewhere with heart, personality and a welcome for everyone who walked through the door.

And somehow, you came.

You came for coffee. You brought your dogs. You sat outside in the sunshine. You told your friends about us. You came back again and again.

You turned our little coffee shop into something we could never have imagined.

But now, we’ve been told that our landlord intends to sell the building that Chalk calls home.

And we have a choice.

We can stand by and hope that whoever buys it allows Chalk to remain…

Or we can try to buy it ourselves.

So that’s exactly what we’re going to do.

We’re launching this crowdfunder to try to raise the money needed to buy our building and secure Chalk’s future.

This isn’t about expanding into a huge chain or building a coffee empire.

It’s about keeping the doors open.

It’s about the coffee machine firing up every morning. The smell of fresh pastries filling our tiny shop. The dogs, the muddy boots, the laughter, the conversations and the familiar faces who have made Chalk what it is.

We’re a tiny independent business. We don’t have wealthy investors or a huge company behind us.

We just have an opportunity to save the place we love — and a community that we hope might help us do it.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will take us one step closer to buying the building and giving Chalk a permanent home.
