Having spent 30+ years in retail working with some of the biggest brands on the UK High Street including M&S, Next and George I realised there was a big gap in the way brands were thinking about the older woman, how they were talking to her and more specifically, the lack of consideration given to her changing body shape when designing clothes for her. I had also reached 51 and was mid-menopause.

Meet Team Hope - a brand by women, for women!
And so I launched Hope over 7 years ago with a commitment to do it differently, designing clothes which are stylish and comfortable for women who want to feel beautifully confident.
Whilst Hope is a brand for all women, we unashamedly speak with a 50+ view because this segment in particular is the one that’s left behind the most. Today we’ve built a community of like-minded women who are not ready to dress like their Mothers or maybe their Grandmothers, instead they want to be the best version of themselves today.
Hope is a brand built around feminine values:
Family, Love, Trust, Integrity, and Authenticity.

Revenue has built steadily and has come back strongly post COVID achieving nearly £1m gross revenue last year with growth of 20% in a very challenging market, we have a database of almost 50k with new customers growing 137% on last year. Our Trustpilot reviews confirm she loves what we do, 89% rate us Excellent.

Our clothes have been worn by some amazing women, including The Princess of Wales and @trinnywoodall, as seen below.
It has been an ongoing struggle to persuade people outside our inner circle to invest and in January our next round of investment was unexpectedly withdrawn. We were devastated and faced with the potential of having to close the business.
I spoke to a group of customers and shared my challenge - their response was overwhelming, ‘you cannot close Hope’ and ‘what can we do to help’? So when I asked if the very people who love Hope would be prepared to save it – our own Hope Saviours – the answer was yes.

What better proof that Hope is more than just a database and that it is fulfilling its original ambition of doing it differently. A brand for women by women supported by women.
On 30th January, we set out and asked all our customers, fans, and followers if they would be prepared to gift Hope £100, £250 or more to help rescue the brand. And 3 weeks later we had raised over £100,000, quite phenomenal. We’re using this money in part to buy our new SS23 collection.

We still need to raise a further £150,000 and we're asking you to donate to the summer collection whilst inviting you to come on the journey with us as we develop it.
The donations will be incentivised with rewards, all of them exclusive to the campaign and generally ‘money can’t buy’. We’re launching with 5 rewards and new ones will be added throughout the campaign.

You can now order The Long Sleeve Scoop Neck Foundation Tops in Black and Navy are now available at an exclusive 20% off for £60!

The Ruffle Dress – Black is now available for pre-order at 15% off.
This will allow us to trade another 12 months, buy our AW23, collection as well as marketing to acquire new recruits to the Hope family and the fantastic team who keep the business going.

Right at the heart of supporting and building a brand which puts her first.
I know this is a huge challenge but in the words of the late, great Nelson Mandela...
“It always seems impossible until it is done”
Trust me, we’re not done yet!
