Aim: We are a community led charity in real threat of closure unless we raise the funds we need by the end of March 2017.

Too Good to Lose!WHO ARE WE?

Swansea Community Farm is a community led, multi-award winning, charitable organisation, set in 3.5 acres of land in Swansea.  As the only city farm in Wales, we, like many other small charities are finding it more and more difficult to fund our running and management costs.

WHAT DO WE NEED?

We are seeking £25,000 through crowdfunder to ensure we continue into the future.  If we don't raise the funds we need by the end of March, we will be facing a very serious possibility of closure.  This money will enable us to continue for 6 months during which time we will be looking for a partner that shares our aims of reconnecting people with their food, their environment and each other. This is an all or nothing campaign- we will not take your money unless we achieve our target.

WHAT ARE OUR ASSESTS?

Our biggest asset is our volunteers!

They range from 8 years to 80 years old and are the lifeblood of our Farm.  Without them, we could not exist.  They are an extremely committed and passionate bunch of people who, in 2015, gave over 16,600 hours of their time to help run the Farm.

On 2 February this year, our volunteers pledged over 5,600 hours of their time to help keep the Farm running over the next year.  At £8.45ph (real Living Wage) this is worth £47,320 - we may be short of money but we've got plenty of desire, passion and willing hands: please help us match this by pledging today!

Our purpose designed site has been built by the volunteers and has been evolving and developing for over 17 years.  We offer free access to the public and provide a fantastic urban green space for children and adults alike where they can get close to nature and our rare-breed farm animals.

We also offer accredited training to people from the local area in cooking skills and healthy eating, food growing, nature conservation skills and animal care.  Each year we have approximately 110 people who gain NOCN qualifications through our training courses.

"I proper enjoyed learning to cook with Gordon and Denise... I take all the knowledge home with me and have started to cook all the healthier recipes and food with my children.  I don't buy frozen, packaged or process meals any more.  What a changed mum I am!"  One lady who attended our healthy eating and cooking skills course in 2015.

Our fantastic work with children and young people received UK wide recognition as we were featured heavily in November's promotion of BBC Children in Need's fundraising campaign.  We are in our 10th consecutive year of BBC CiN funding!

One of our younger volunteers, Harlie, featured on the Chris Evans BBC Radio 2 Breakfast show and melted hearts around the UK.

Harlie, along with Tari also featured on BBC Radio 4's 'Listening Project' - Click here to listen.

Our children and younger people look after the Farm on a Saturday, where they take part in activities such as gardening, animal care, cooking in our cafe and grounds maintenance.

"Since attending the Farm, our son has been a different person!  As a family we cannot thank you enough, he is learning to be more independent and his social skills have improved so much in a relatively short time." A grateful parent whose son attends our Saturday Club.

Please don't let Swansea Community Farm close - please help us stay open by pledging now!
