To increase number of facilities in the stadium plans, reduce density and height of houses, and reduce loss of green spaces and trees.
There have been two planning applications submitted for the Meadowbank stadium site, one for a smaller stadium and the other to sell of the majority of surround land for residential and commercial use. There was not an adequate consultation before the applications were submitted and people's concerns have still not been addressed. Some concerns are the lack of facilities in the new stadium, the plans to change the land from designated recreation use to residential and commercial, plans to build student accommodation, hotel and 360+ home with only a small minority being "affordable" housing and the reduction of healthy mature trees and green spaces.
You will find a full list of our concerns here https://savemeadowbank.wordpress.com/campaign-activity/concerns-about-planning-applications/
So far we've spent about £350 on leaflets, we need to reimburse people for this and we plan to do a lot more leafleting and poster printing to get widespread publicity about what exactly is happening at Meadowbank.
