We want to protect this woodland and stop the felling of trees in Marlhill Copse.
Extinction Rebellion is a movement striving for system change. In Southampton we are working with our government to bring the total carbon output of the city to net zero by 2025.
If we let them cut these trees down, as well as expanding Southampton airport, there is no way we'll reach that target.
We need to raise £300 to pay for a professional independent ecological survey of the area (not funded by the airport) so we can build a strong, well informed case against the destruction of this beautiful woodland.
Unfortunately on Tuesday the 12th the council approved the felling application, and the work is due to start on the 1st of April. But we're not giving up!
Fewer trees and more CO2 is the opposite of what we need in this city.
