We need your help to save a piece of the Atlantic Rain Forest and an Area of Panoramic quality from a destructive development.
Portincaple, on the shores of Loch Long, is a beautiful corner of Scotland, but it’s under threat.
The proposals would place 12 large houses, including at least 15 “cabins” aimed at supporting the expansion of Faslane Naval base. These would be built on a site that’s mostly listed as ancient woodland and part of the Atlantic Rain Forest. It risks a range of special wildlife, including otters, bats, red squirrels, pine martens and newts and the loch below is home to porpoises and strongly believed by experts to be home to extremely rare sea squirts
If this goes ahead, it will open up a much larger space for subsequent development meaning severe pressure on local infrastructure- access is by a narrow road with a weak bridge, and there’s no public transport nor easy active travel links.
The people of Portincaple want you to back them, but need help. Please donate what you can.
With your help, we can win this.
